Elia and Kheiry will be attempting the summit from the North West Ridge, with the use of supplemental oxygen. They’ve previously climbed together to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Toubkal in Morocco. They will be backed up and supported by 3 of the strongest sherpas in the Himalayas: Dawa Tenzing Sherpa, Namgel Sherpa, Ang Pemba Sherpa (Pema) and Pasang Sherpa. Without their involvement, there would be no expedition. Our Sherpas have many ascents of 8,000 metre peaks to their credit, including Cho Oyu and Everest, among others.
Elia said: “In 2010, we summited Mt. Everest with Pema, Dawa and Namgel. They’re truly the reason why we are able to summit 8000M peaks, especially with all of our filmmaking needs. I can’t wait to reunite with these often forgotten heroes of the Himalayas”.
