Elia Saikaly, Canadian adventurer, filmmaker and Founder of FindingLife, is set to return to Mt. Everest in the spring of 2010. Over 130 schools are “following” Expedition 2010 on the new interactive WIGUP.TV (While I Grow Up) ‘prototype’ web channel targeting students 9-14 years-old. The web channel will feature an “Adventures” pavilion – offering Expedition 2010 live updates, daily blogs and webisodes. The 2 month expedition to the top of the world begins March 27th 2010
Character Building Adventure For Students
Through the use of innovating technology, Elia and his team will be creating incredible content on Mt. Everest that students and teachers in schools will be able to access on a daily basis. Expedition 2010 will be a shared experience for thousands following along. Students will follow along in class and will have the ability to communicate with the team via Skype, Sat Phone and BGAN technology. Students will also be encouraged to follow fitness programs posted online during the length of the 60 day expedition. A teachers guide written by teachers, for teachers, will be made available for all schools looking to participate.
The Humanitarian Causes
Building on the success of previous FindingLife school campaigns, students in schools across Canada will be encouraged to raise funds during the expedition to finally complete a Child Haven home for orphaned children in India.
